Bezier Rainbow

In celebration of its 30th aniversary in the summer of 2013, german computer journal c’t staged a contest for browserdemos . My contribution, unfortunately, didn’t make it to the final round…therefore I’m publishing it here now.

The contest rules stated a time limit of one minute. On seeing the published contributions, I’ll admit to being a bit miffed for radically shortening my animation. Most other contestants had interpreted this limitation rather freely. Here’s the long version.

The animation has been coded solely with SVG/SMIL , without the use of any scripting. In my observation, the Chrome browser is currently best at rendering a flowing animation. Firefox in contrast is quite heavily stuttering.
